A Day in the Life of a Lendy Park Child

At Lendy Park School, we place great emphasis on both academic excellence and spiritual development. As such, each school day begins at 7:30 am with two protected 30-minute sessions—one dedicated to reading and the other to daily devotion. Once a week, the devotion is replaced by an assembly, tailored to suit the developmental stage of the children, ensuring that the messages conveyed are age-appropriate and meaningful.

Following this, pupils engage in their core academic subjects, including Mathematics, English, and Science, all of which follow

the Cambridge Framework. Additionally, our curriculum includes Social Science, Shona, Music (both practical and theoretical), and Computer Studies. From Early Childhood Development (ECD) onwards, pupils are introduced to computer programming using age-appropriate platforms, ensuring they develop essential digital literacy skills.

Mid-morning, the children enjoy

a 30-minute break, during which they are provided with tea by the school. This allows them time to recharge before returning to their studies.

At lunchtime, the entire school gathers to share a nutritious, cooked meal. This is not only a time for social interaction but also an opportunity to reinforce table manners and etiquette. After lunch, pupils have free time to socialise before returning to class for another session, which includes taught lessons, chess, music, wildlife studies, and a variety of other enrichment activities.

The afternoon is dedicated to sporting activities, which vary according to the season. Boys participate in cricket, r

ugby, and football, while girls engage in tennis and netball. In addition, all children take part in athletics, cross-country, and swimming. Our philosophy prioritises participation and skill

development, ensuring that every child learns to play competently and in a manner that reflects our core values. While we strive for excellence, winning is not our sole focus—we emphasise sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.

At 4:30 pm, after a full and enriching day, pupils leave school inspired, hopeful, and determined to succeed.
